We are currently in rehearsal for our next concert which will take place in January 2026. Works to be performed include Bruch’s Swedish Serenade for strings, Gounod’s Petite Symphonie for wind instruments, and Beethoven’s 7th symphony. More information will be posted here when available.

June 8, 2025 – mostly mozart in greystones

We presented our summer concert at 8pm on Sunday, June 8th in St. Patrick’s Church of Ireland, Greystones, under the baton of our musical director, Cillian O’Breacháin. The evening featured two beloved masterpieces by Mozart, alongside a vibrant and captivating orchestral suite by the 20th-century Hungarian composer Ferenc Farkas. We were also honoured to welcome Silvija Ščerbavičiūtė, the principal flautist of the RTE Concert Orchestra, as our soloist for Mozart’s G major Flute Concerto.
January 2025 – Winter concert in Greystones
Our winter concert for 2024/25 took place on January 25, 2025 in the Holy Rosary Church in Greystones, under the leadership of our musical director Cillian O’Breachain. We weredelighted to be joined for this concert by the wonderful horn player Hannah Miller for a performance of Richard Strauss’s 1st horn concerto. We also performed works by Delibes and Beethoven.

May 2024 – Greystones Orchestra at the Movies

For our summer concert this year we took a trip to the cinema, with an exciting programme of film music from movie blockbusters including Jurassic Park, Gladiator, Lord of the Rings, Batman and many more. The concert took place on Saturday 25 May in the Holy Rosary Church in Greystones. We were delighted to welcome André Cavanagh as our guest conductor for this concert. As well as being a noted French horn soloist and professional orchestral player, André has held conducting positions with multiple orchestras in the Dublin area.
February 2024 – Winter Concert at the Mermaid Arts Centre, Bray.

Our winter concert for 2023/24 took place on February 17, 2024 in the Mermaid Arts Centre, Bray, Co. Wicklow. The programme included Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture, Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll and Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with the wonderful soloist Lynda O’Connor who gave a virtuoso performance of this marvellous work. The orchestra was conducted by Cillian O’Breachain, in his first concert since taking over as our new musical director in September 2023.

February 2023 – 30th anniversary concert in the Mermaid Arts Centre, Bray, Co. Wicklow

Our most recent concert was held on Feb 4th, 2023 in the Mermaid Theatre, Bray, Co. Wicklow, when we (belatedly, due to previous Covid pandemic restrictions) celebrated 30 years since the founding of the orchestra. We were once again conducted by our musical director, Jonathan Browner, with oboe soloist Jessica Harris and clarinet soloist Robert Clarke.

Schubert: Symphony no. 3
Mozart: Slow movement from the Clarinet Concerto
Mozart: Oboe Concerto

Summer Concert 2022 – May 21st at Belmont Desmesne, Co. Wicklow.

Our 2022 summer concert was held on 21st May in Belmont Desmesne, Co. Wicklow on a beautifully sunny Saturday evening. We were delighted to be able to perform again in front of a live audience after a break of over two years since our last public performance, an experience which was greatly enjoyed by performers and audience alike. We were also delighted to share the stage with the Major Minors Junior Orchestra – Greystones Orchestra members of the future!
