Greystones Orchestra goes to Hollywood – May 25, 2024
For our summer concert we took a trip to the movies with a concert of film music at the Church of the Holy Rosary in Greystones. An enthusiastic capacity audience enjoyed listening to us performing some lively and exciting music from a series of blockbuster movies such as Gladiator, Lord of the Rings, Batman, Mission Impossible and others, under the skillful direction of our guest conductor André Cavanagh. Winter concert – February 4, 2023
The orchestra was thrilled to be able to hold our first winter concert for 3 years following the Covid pandemic. The concert took place in the Mermaid Theatre, Bray, Co. Wicklow on February 4th and was enthusiastically received by a full and appreciative audience. Here are some images from the evening – the background music is an excerpt from the first movement of Schubert’s 3rd symphony, which we played in the first half of the concert.
