Greystones Orchestra at the Movies – May 25 in the Holy Rosary Church, Greystones

For our summer concert this year we’re taking a trip to the cinema, with an exciting programme of film music from movie blockbusters including Jurassic Park, Gladiator, Lord of the Rings, Batman and many more.  The concert is taking place at 8pm on Saturday 25 May in the Holy Rosary Church in Greystones.  Tickets costing €20 (€15 for full-time students and under-18s) can be obtained from orchestra members or bought at the door on the evening of the concert.

We are delighted to welcome André Cavanagh as our guest conductor for this concert.  As well as being a noted French horn soloist and professional orchestral player, André has held conducting positions with the Fingal Youth Orchestra, Blackrock College Orchestra, Blackrock Jazz Band, Knocklyon Concert Band and is currently director of the Newpark Community Orchestra.

Cillian O’Breachain appointed as conductor for 2023/24 season

We are delighted to be able to announce that following the unavailability of Jonathan Browner, Cillian O’Breachain has been appointed as conductor of the Greystones Orchestra for the 2023/24 season.  Cillian has a wealth of experience as conductor and orchestral violinist and we are all looking forward very much to working with him over the coming year.

Full information on Cillian’s musical background and experience can be found on our People webpage.

Summer concert cancelled

Due to the unavailability of our musical director Jonathan Browner we have unfortunately had to cancel our summer concert, which had been planned for 20th May.  We’d like to wish Jonathan a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming him back to us when we resume rehearsals in September, when we will be preparing for our next concert in February 2024.
